Gloria P. Thomas Memorial
Age 83, died on October 21, 2007, after a long battle with lung cancer.
Born in Meadville, PA, to Marguerite and Vincent Pepicelli, Gloria graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Allegheny College and received her J.D. from University of Pennsylvania in 1947. Prior to retiring to Delaware, she served as chief of the domestic relations divisions of the courts in Wilkes-Barre and Philadelphia, PA, as President of the Domestic Relations Association of Pennsylvania, and as a member of the Board of Eastern URESA. Her dedication to improving domestic relations legislation and to helping children was recognized with numerous awards including the Robert Stewart Award for Humanitarian Contributions to Children. After retiring to Delaware, Gloria became active in the Academy of Life Long Learning of the University of Delaware where she was an instructor, a member of many committees, and Chair of the Council.
Preceded in death by her husband, Enoch H. Thomas, Jr., her sister, Elizabeth, and 2 brothers, John and Vincent, Gloria is survived by her daughter, Gloria Penn Thomas of New York; her daughter and son-in-law, Megan and William Goeller of Wilmington; and her 4 wonderful grandchildren, Molly, Cara, Laura, and William.
Funeral service were held on Wednesday, October 24, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2313 Concord Pike, interment private.
