Pennsylvania's Department of Public Welfare Honored for Innovative Technology that Connects Vulnerable Children with Needed Child Support

New DRAP President - Ann Marie Oldani

It is my honor and privilege to have been elected the 23rd President of the Domestic Relations Association of Pennsylvania, a professional organization that represents over 3000 PA child support workers state-wide.  The success of our organization lies in that vast membership ranging from the smallest of rural counties, Forest, to the largest city, Philadelphia.

It is no secret that our largest urban jurisdictions, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, are the most successful in the country and contribute to Pennsylvania’s continued state-wide success to which we have become accustomed.  Combined, they represent one-third of our state-wide caseload and should not be denied that accolade.  But it is only together with the rest of our Commonwealth, embodied in the consistent dedication and success of all of our smaller brother and sister counties combined, that we succeed as a whole.

In communion with the Bureau of Child Support Enforcement, the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement and our unique training institute, the Pennsylvania Child Support Enforcement Training Institute (PACSETI) through Penn State University, our positive working relationships help us to excel above all other states at providing for our most valuable resources, those children who depend upon us to aid their families with financial stability.  It is a result of these partnerships and the exhaustive high performing work each of you in the Domestic Relations Sections do, that we as a state consistently outperform our counterparts nationwide.

As the economy continues to challenge us to do our jobs smarter and collect more child support than ever with fewer resources to accomplish that task, I thank each Pennsylvania Child Support worker for performing their demanding and important job duties with dedication, fortitude and resilience.  I also challenge each of you to recognize our special calling to serve children and families in need and to reach out to other colleagues within our organization for support and understanding when needed.

As President of this dynamic and important organization, I intend to continue on our successful course as plotted by previous presidents and I humbly look forward to representing all of you.  As one team, we will strive to maintain Pennsylvania’s status as a nationally recognized leader in the provision of support services while reaching far to attain exciting new levels of excellence to benefit  children and families.
